Duke of Edinburgh Scheme

It's your DofE, so do it your way

Choose the things you love to do or try something completely new, help your community, test your limits, enhance your skills, and grow your confidence. It’s your DofE, so do it your way.

The Charity, Open DofE Centres in West Sussex, is a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Charity Commission (No. 1169592), created from three centres, and offering the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in West Sussex based in Horsham, Chichester and Shoreham.

We operate under the DofE licence held by West Sussex County Council, and our Centres are run exclusively by volunteers. Our trustees represent the three centres, provide advice and challenge and ensure the effective running of the organisation as a whole.

OUR CHARITABLE OBJECTS To advance the mental, physical and spiritual welfare of young people in West Sussex by: Providing them with opportunities to participate in and achieve the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, regardless of their background or circumstances; Guiding and supporting them with all sections of the Award; Preparing them for the expedition section of the Award through education and adventurous training; and by facilitating affordable and high quality practice and assessed expeditions.

The Chichester Centre meets every other Wednesday at the Chichester Boys Club between 7.30 and 9pm.
